K-4 Clear Backpack Rule Reversed

As a result of the recent An Evening of Discussion with the Superintendents’ Meetings, the requirement for students in grades K-4 to use clear or mesh backpacks will be discontinued at the end of the 1st semester. This decision to reverse the requirement was made based upon the consensus of parents, guardians, and staff who attended these recent meetings in the elementary schools. Any K-4 student who has a clear backpack that falls apart before the end of the 1st semester may feel comfortable bringing a cloth backpack to school now.

Important IPARENT Information

Dear Parent/ Guardian:

If you have been denied access to IPARENT, it is because you registered your children under multiple parent IDs. Each parent should have only ONE parent ID number for all children in the household.

You will need to re-register all children under ONE parent ID on the district IPASS system.

DO NOT hit SUBMIT until all students' information has been entered.

Thank you,

Gateway School District

Rumor Has It
Sometimes, despite Gateway's best efforts to get accurate information out in a timely manner, misinformation about the district, its staff or students can circulate quickly. In an effort to make sure our families and communities have accurate information, the district has created this page which allows Gateway to address rumors and inaccuracies that residents may have heard through the grapevine. If there is a topic or rumor you are curious about, simply send us an email at and we'll answer your question and post the it on the website.
