GHS School Search Completed - Oct. 16th

As noted in an email blast sent to our families on October 7, 2014, Gateway High School received a bomb threat on October 3, 2014 in one of the boys' restrooms. The threat indicated that the "school would blow up on 10/17/14." The threat was determined to be non-credible based upon all of the information gathered.

The facilities have been searched daily by school administrators and law enforcement. The threat also gave the District and law enforcement an opportunity to collaborate with the Allegheny County Explosive Ordnance Disposal K-9 Team along with several other police departments to search Gateway High School and its surrounding properties after school hours today.

The K-9 and law enforcement teams found no evidence of any explosive device and have, for the second time, deemed the threat not credible. Investigations will continue to determine who perpetrated the hoax. As you are aware, Gateway is one of several local school districts to receive threats of a similar nature this month.

School and all after school activities will resume, as normal, on October 17, 2014.

Important IPARENT Information

Dear Parent/ Guardian:

If you have been denied access to IPARENT, it is because you registered your children under multiple parent IDs. Each parent should have only ONE parent ID number for all children in the household.

You will need to re-register all children under ONE parent ID on the district IPASS system.

DO NOT hit SUBMIT until all students' information has been entered.
